12 April 2002 - 12:18 Not that that necessarily follows. I've decided to attempt to be ethical and refer to more people by pseudonyms, including my mentor, who is henceforth Gillian Baskin. You all know who she is anyway, but at least I'm trying. I've been having trouble changing the first entry for some reason though. My close friend Platypus has generously offered to look around for some hobbiests who pan for gold from whom Wheel & I might buy wedding ring material, thus resolving my ecological conundrum. I'd pan for it myself, but I live in Florida. Platty lives in Oregon. We'll take the raw material and a design to Wheel's family jeweler (!) Mr. Meltdown (I don't actually know his real name. That may be it.). I'm e-mailing the creator of that pretty e-bay dress to see if she might make it using hemp/silk fabric, and also aquamarine trim, and how much that might cost. I'm so demanding. She's very nice, but I don't know yet if it will work. Wheel suggests John Moore as an officiant. Danm. Great idea. I wonder if he'll do it? In other news, I didn't get accepted to the internship I applied for at Harbor Branch. What's up with that? I didn't get accepted last year either. Of course, it's a moot point since I already accepted that awesome intership here, but rejection still stings a little. I know I've got the background, I know my profs. wrote dazzling recommendation letters, and this year I got it in early. Where did I go wrong? Perhaps I shall call these people I spent last night talking to/chatting with/writing a variety of friends, older and newer. Unfortunately for you, my readers, only Heph has a diary. It was a truly pleasant evening, although I didn't get any work done. Finally, read Wheel's presidential entry. He's got my vote.
