Take me to the beach!

Yesterday was a play day. Blazer came down for the weekend, so we had to have some fun. After breakfast cereal and Saturday morning cartoons and me reading some articles about signature whistles, we headed out to Lido beach.

The sun was hot hot hot and the water was oh so cool and very calm (unlike a couple weeks ago when the tropical storms reached their fingers out to give us a rare taste of surf). We lathered up with sunscreen and went swimming. We met a nice gal who'd just gotten in from Jersey to spend several months recording music in Sarasota. We mucked about in the sand a lot. Wheel shaped South Florida snow-balls and piled them up. I focused my creative energy into my eternal inspiration, sculpting a sandy little dolphin to wait for the tide to come in.

Wheel and I split a virgin strawberry dacqueri from the food stand and we all went to the evening showing of "Red Dragon," which was excellent, very much comparable to "Silence of the Lambs" and "Hannibal." "Silence" is still my favorite (how could it not be, with Jodie Foster as Clarice?), and I think "Hannibal" was by far the most graphic, but "Red Dragon" was very good, very well done.

We headed home for dinner--noodles with veggies and cheese sauce made by Wheel; pita with hummus and vinagarette, all made by The One (our fourth housemate, Nootropil's brother).

I settled in to finish my outfit for the night's revelries--a laced black rubber skirt to go with the laced black rubbert top I made some weeks ago. I decked myself out in home-made skin-tight oh so environmentally friendly black with red ribbons partywear, fishnets and free table heels and we three happy-go-lucky souls dove into the night, headed for The Rocky Horror Picture Show in St. Pete.

(Yes, I made that! Isn't it hot? I would like to sell them, so if any of you dear readers would like something similar, custom made, perhaps for PCP, let me know! Expect to see advertising soon.)

We went to campus to pick up Hoochiepoet, who got glam-dolled up and wore her amazing wonder boots, and Blazer once again took us to the beach--The Beach Theater, that is. There we met up with Pairodox, Oregano, and a friend of theirs, and settled in to the cozy arty cool little theater.

The show, put on by The Interchangable Parts, was fantastically fun. I had actually never been to a live show without me in it (as one of the Absent Friends here at New College), and it was good to see people who do it every week and have a big collection of props. I even heard some new call lines, although most of the call lines came from us and the cast (probably due to the surprising fact that nearly half the audiance consisted of virgins). Very inspiring--I'm looking forward to our show even more now, and y'all should be too (I'll have a date for it as soon as we find out when Halloween PCP is...does anyone know?).

I yelled myself hoarse and then slept in the car and dreamed fitfull dreams of excitement and adventure. Now, of course, I must get some work done.
