I called the masculine personification of the Ocean on a little radio, and he answered. We talked for what seemed like a long time.

It was strange and passionate. I walked down along a coast I knew I had never seen before. I did not forget that that which I saw lapping over round stones in sparkling blue waves was in some way the same as the echoing voice that responded tenderly to my enthusiasm and told me not to stir up so much sand when I go snorkeling.

It was an unexpected dream, in no particular way connected to anything I've been reading or thinking, outside of that I need to spend more time in the water.

Oh, and anyone who didn't read it when I linked to it earlier, take a few minutes now to read A Little Mermaid. I think it's one of the best things I've ever written.
